When galaxies collide…

The European Southern Observatory just released this astounding picture of two galaxies colliding. It’s an event that unfolds over the course of hundreds of millions of years.
NPR also adds that our own Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy will probably collide in three or four billion years.
sometimes i wonder if the other galaxies are heaven. i mean where exactly to we go when we die. do we simply disappear never to exist again? or is there really an afterlife? do we remember anything from our life on earth in the afterlife? are we reincarnated? there are too many souls around for us to be reused in that way. but maybe that’s why history repeats itself sometimes because we keep doing the same thing in our different lives. i don’t know. it’s scary to think that one day we will be gone forever. the only thing left will be other people’s memories of you that will also fade away and disappear. it will disappear completely when they die. so why are we even here in the first place? forgive my ramblings i just wonder about things sometimes.
